OnePoint Systems aims for boost after US market breakthrough

A SOFTWARE firm operating in the niche envelope manufacturing sector could be set to more than double its turnover after picking up clients in the USA.

Sunderland’s OnePoint Systems offers a business management product called OnePoint Office, which allows firms in the sector to efficiently manage facets of the business such as materials purchasing, estimating, task planning, order processing and invoicing.

It began to pursue clients in the large North American market through the UKTI’s Passport to Export scheme, and now has clients including Canada’s largest envelope manufacturer Supremex.

Director Jason Brown said: “We’ve secured about $500,000 of new business out there and we’re looking at some big things in the next few days and weeks.

“Any new business generates losses, especially in software as it’s a lot of R&D, but we made a profit last year which is a hell of an achievement.”

OnePoint most recently posted turnover of £300,000, but is confident this will grow as international contracts increase. Interest has also come in from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Africa.
