Phil's web move fits

FITNESS guru Phil Crosby is run off his feet - and loving every minute of it.

In just 10 weeks his newly launched health and fitness website, run from his office in Stockton, has attracted 2,000 subscribers in 15 countries.

“We aimed for 5,500 in the first year, so it’s already well above what we expected,” he said.

The subscription site called iexerci.se brings together healthy lifestyle and social networking in one motivational package, whether users are running the marathon or just want to lose a few pounds.

Phil, a former British Army PT instructor, spotted a gap in the market once he turned personal trainer back on Civvy Street.

“There’s no advertising, we have two subscription models and we’ve used Facebook and Twitter for social network campaigns.”

The If We Can You Can competition hopeful added: “A quarter of users are logging on every day, which is good.”

The next step is to translate the site into other languages and develop hi-tech gadgets linked to the site. Phil has plans for watch and smart phone applications and electronic wi-fi scales linked to subscribers’ home broadband.
