TRANSPORT giant Go Ahead has been commended for its corporate responsibility. The Newcastle company has been listed among the top businesses in Business in the Community's Corporate Responsibility Index for the sixth year in the row.
Go-Ahead, which employs more than 27,000 people at its transport and aviation-handling businesses across Europe, has retained its Gold Rating.
This has been achieved every year since the listing was introduced four years ago to highlight business’ openness and transparency through effective public reporting of its environmental and social issues, programmes and performance.
Go-Ahead’s group chief executive Keith Ludeman said: “I am once again delighted that the group continues to perform extremely well in the Corporate Responsibility Index.
“Corporate responsibility remains a central feature of Go-Ahead’s philosophy and reflects our focus on the communities and stakeholders we serve, our commitment to minimising our impact on the environment and to being a responsible employer and operator.”
