A TECHNOLOGY expert recently named by a US magazine as one of the “10 People Who Could Change the World” will be the main speaker at a high profile conference in Gateshead next month.
“Film Futurist” Matt Hanson will address delegates at the Digital Film 2.0 conference which aims to address how the world of film and the internet are converging.
Mr Hanson, from image consultancy Visual Intelligence Agency in Brighton, will join a cast of experienced speakers from the audio-visual industries at the event, at the Sage Gateshead on Thursday, September 20.
As well as being listed as a “world changer” by Forbes magazine, Mr Hanson was also recently described as an “international film visionary” by Screen International magazine.
He is currently working on A Swarm of Angels, a project to fund, film and distribute a feature film solely using the internet and digital technologies.
The conference will cover: a traditional film and TV producer’s view; the use of film and film-style narrative within videogames; distribution issues; and cutting edge film 2.0 technology.
Also speaking at the event will be Channel 4 new media commissioner Adam Gee, and Sam Morton and Nick Imrie from Twenty First Century Media in Newcastle.
After the conference, delegates will be invited to the Pitcher and Piano bar on the Quayside in Newcastle for a “wrap party”, with complementary food and drinks.
