Invate's hi-tech help for disabled

Chris Quickfall

A COMPANY which provides special technology to make life easier for people with disabilities is on target to treble its turnover to £1.5m within a year following the launch of a new online division.

Gateshead-based Invate, which helps young people with disabilities achieve their academic goals through technology, looks set to shake off the effects of the economic slowdown by boosting its online presence.

The firm has developed a new online filtering system which allows people with disabilities to input their requirements and quickly source products suitable to them – a move which is expected to significantly boost earnings at the business.

Young entrepreneur Chris Quickfall, who suffers from dyslexia, set up the company three years ago after realising he could drastically improve the service he experienced when buying equipment to support his own disability.

The company has since grown quickly and now works with the private and public sectors and, through technology, aims to ensure that everyone can be considered equally for opportunity in every aspect of education.
