Close look at health in region

PROFESSIONALS in the health and wellbeing sector will gather in the region next week to check the pulse of the North East.

North East healthcare organisation Cels is inviting professionals to attend a seminar entitled the Health and Wellbeing Surgery, which will discuss the state of health in the North East and examine the role of exercise and nutrition in disease prevention and treatment.

Speakers from the North East Strategic Health Authority, health and fitness companies and several of the regions’ universities will give presentations on a range of topics including government strategies for improving health and wellbeing and proof of exercise as a therapeutic treatment.

It is hoped that the seminar will bring together organisations in the healthcare sector to stimulate ideas, create new networks and identify any areas in need of development and support.
