NEWCASTLE-based domain registration and web hosting business Domaincheck has seen the number of new customers treble following a technology upgrade.
The 12-year-old business is part of Newcastle-based Zebra Group and has invested thousands of pounds on new software licences from highly regarded software provider Parallel and three new servers.
Zebra managing director Nick Collins said: “We needed to simplify the whole domain registration process and achieved this by upgrading the system including a Parallel Plesk control panel. This has streamlined registration and it is now possible to become a Domaincheck customer, register a new domain name and be up with our web hosting capabilities within a few clicks.
“We have always recognised Domaincheck as an extremely important element of the Zebra Group business; but because new subscriptions could not easily be handled in a fully automated way, via our website, we were missing an opportunity.
“Now with the new control panel technology allowing customers to choose online between simplified sales packages that give them more for their money, the business has enjoyed substantially increased sales.
“The fact that orders have trebled shows what the true potential of the business is.”
Domaincheck has customers across the UK and range from individuals who have registered one domain name to companies that have 70 or more.
Established in 1995, Zebra Group is a full service IT provider also comprising of data centre and consultancy ZebraHosts, web design business Zebra Web Design. It has 12 staff.
