A FAST-GROWING IT business is in negotiations with entertainment giant Virgin Media as it closes in on a three-year, £10m deal which would see 60 new members of staff added to its workforce.
The Agile Group, based in Stockton, is in talks in the hope of winning a contract which would see Virgin outsource one of its major national operations to the North East firm.
The multimillion-pound deal means that Agile – which already has an existing partnership with Virgin – would provide technical support, via the telephone and on-site, to Virgin’s customers.
It would provide support for what is known as customer premises equipment such as set-top boxes and internet-related products like modems and wireless hubs.
If, as expected, the company signs a deal with Virgin, it will create 60 new jobs through a new call centre at its Teesside headquarters as well as employing on-site technical experts.
Teesside entrepreneur Simon Scotchbrook, who runs the company with his business partner Sean Greeley, said the firm remains on target to meets it impressive growth targets, despite uncertain times in the market.
