BRAND technology specialist Th_nk has been ranked alongside the UK's most successful digital agencies in this year's Top 100 league table by industry title, New Media Age.
The Newcastle agency made 77th in the league table, in which it has appeared for the last four years, and 32nd in the Top Design and Build Agencies category and also scooped the title of Top Interactive Agency in the North East, again for the fourth year running.
Operations director Steve Johnston said: “It’s fantastic news that we have been included in the New Media Age’s Top 100 and been named as the top interactive agency in the North East once again.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how this accolade will help us take the agency to even higher places as we continue with our national expansion and welcome even more talented people on-board in London and Newcastle over the coming months.”
Now in its 10th year, the NMA league table ranks agencies purely on the income they receive from digital media activity – not on turnover – which is considered to provide a more accurate reflection of the actual worth of digital expertise within a company.
Th_nk was started by Tarek Nseir in 2003 after he graduated from Newcastle University and the company has grown to see an annual turnover of more than £3m and works with brands including Bupa, bmi, Lloyds TSB, LG Electronics, Anthropologie, TNS and Hays Recruitment.
The company was also named as one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital agencies at the 2009 Media Momentum Awards and has achieved a top-10 spot in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the past two years.
Meanwhile the North East Strategic Health Authority (SHA) has been shortlisted for a national award following the re-launch of its website - www.northeast.nhs.uk after working with Th_nk.
It was shortlisted for Best Corporate Website at the CorpComms Awards 2009, for in-house communications, alongside national competition from Orange, Westminster City Council and the Department for International Development.
The authority’s director of communications Claire Riley said: “It is no longer enough for organisations to simply have a website – a good online presence must be built with the end user in mind, with robust, relevant and up-to-date content that is easy to navigate and, most crucially, designed and delivered in a way that is appealing.
“Our website is in many ways the portal to the NHS in the North East and we’re really pleased to be recognised as part of these prestigious awards.”
