WORKERS in the region will next month learn how to reduce stress by applying the fundamentals of yoga to their email inbox.
Email Yoga is just one of the pre-conference workshops at Business Link’s Marketing: the art of conference aimed at helping North East companies achieve a sustained profile and gain a competitive advantage.
With businesses increasingly relying on email to communicate, Email Yoga concentrates on how participants can get in control of their inbox to reduce email stress.
Julie Spowart, events manager at Business and Enterprise North East, said: "In business we increasingly rely on the internet to communicate, but this can sometimes lead to information overload as we struggle to manage our in-boxes. Email Yoga aims to provide no-nonsense strategies for effective email management."
Other pre-conference sessions include Breakfast Kucha, following the format of Pecha Kucha, which began in Japan in 2003, where businesses will have the chance to pitch chosen topics to other delegates in a timed exercise designed to improve presentation skills.
Meanwhile, Twit Twit Twoo, looks at the merits of Twitter and Selecting Winning Ideas gives tips on choosing the best business ideas from the multitude that are offered to firms.
