£1m investment to go global

Tarek Nseir

DIGITAL agency Th_nk has received £1m in investment from an international venture capital fund to fuel its expansion plans.

The Newcastle-headquartered company, which also has an office in London, has been backed by global venture capitalists Beringea.

Beringea’s chief investment officer Trevor Hope will join the board of the firm as a non-executive director and help navigate the next stage of its expansion.

Th_nk, which was started by Newcastle University graduate Tarek Nseir in 2003, currently works with Bupa, bmi, Lloyds TSB, LG Electronics, Anthropologie, TNS and Hays Recruitment.

More recently it has enjoyed a string of new business wins including contracts with electronics giant LG, international retailer Anthropologie and literary and talent agency Curtis Brown.

According to the company, its latest funding boost will help it expand both nationally and globally by investing in new technology and in improving its planning and strategic capabilities.
