A COMPANY specialising in web hosting and domain name registration has introduced a low-cost application that aims to bring e-commerce within the reach of more people.
Newcastle-based Domaincheck, which is part of IT firm Zebra Group, said that its latest innovation is an extension of the existing Domaincheck Website Builder.
Chief executive Nick Collins said: “Whether it’s online bookings, online shopping or online auctions, e-commerce has become a way of life in this day and age. However, getting an e-commerce site up and running can be a costly and complicated process.
“Domaincheck’s Website Builder offers a step-by-step guide to building your own website and enables you to run an e-commerce site for under £25 per month. Whether you have a strong technical background or are a complete novice, the software is easy to use, and if you do get stuck, we’re only a phone call away.”
Users can create a professional look for their website, choosing from 500 templates, design the site structure with the page set-up section and upload all the necessary content.
The e-commerce application allows users to upload an unlimited amount of products in any amount of categories. It also supports multiple currencies and payment methods including PayPal, WorldPay and 2checkout.com meaning security isn’t compromised.
Derek Pitcher is MD of Switch off UK (www.switchoffuk.com), a company set up to help businesses and individuals make their homes and offices more energy efficient. The site also includes an e-shop selling gadgets to help reduce carbon footprints.
Derek said: “I have worked with The Zebra Group for three years now on various projects and find the team extremely helpful so turned to it for advice with this new venture.
“I needed to get the company online as quickly as possible but as Switch off UK is a start-up company, it has limited cash flow. The team suggested I use Domaincheck’s Website Builder to create a professional but low-cost site.
“The idea is to use this site as a catalyst to build the company’s profile, then upgrade the site as it expands.”
