ONE of the region's oldest computer suppliers is marking its move to new headquarters with two open days highlighting new advances in the world of IT.
Sumlock has been based on Tyneside since 1976, but has been forced to move from New Bridge Street in Newcastle as its existing premises are being knocked down for conversion into student flats.
The company has now relocated to new premises at Planet House, Northumbrian Way, Killingworth, and it is hosting a series of open days where it will highlight the latest technological advances.
Darren Towart, Sumlock’s account manage,r said: “We have always been at the forefront of computer technology having been the first to supply digital calculators and word processing units.
“The open days will highlight the first eco friendly computer systems. They use less power but are extremely fast so there’s no compromise on the service.”
“The solutions that we are going to have on show we believe will be of interest to everyone from small businesses to local authorities to large companies and also to schools.”
Sumlock’s two events are on February 24 from noon until 6pm and on February 25 from 8am to noon. Complimentary refreshments will be served throughout the exhibition.
