Advantex accolade from top CCTV firm

ADVANTEX Network Solutions Ltd’s success in selling state-of-the-art IP (Internet Protocol) based CCTV and security surveillance equipment has been recognised by the world’s leading system suppliers.
The IT infrastructure specialists, which is based at Houghton-le-Spring, has won Axis Communications’ Solution Silver Partner of the Year 2009.
Advantex is the first company to hold the award in the UK and the news reinforces its position as one of the UK’s leading IP CCTV and networking solutions’ providers.
Silver partner status was awarded because Advantex achieved product sales in excess of £100,000 and showed its strong commitment to improving customer service through product training.
Axis’s Solution Silver Partners also have to successfully complete the first level of training at the Axis Communications Academy. The course involves learning about essential video surveillance topics such as image quality and compression techniques.
Advantex has been an Axis reseller for four years and has installed several systems in the UK, including 65 cameras at Nissan Manufacturing UK in Washington and 20 at undersea cabling manufacturer Wellstream on Tyneside.
Other systems are also at the five-star Rockliffe Hall hotel and golf complex in County Durham, Gateshead College and Dykehouse School in Hartlepool.

The firm has grown rapidly since it was founded five years ago by brothers Stephen and David O’Connell. Now employing nearly 30 people, the company saw sales break through the £2m barrier last year.
