Advice on mobile technology from Sunderland firm CCS

APPROACHES to working away from the office will be explored in a one-day event run by Sunderland’s mobile technology firm CCS next month.

The November 17 event – dubbed UnLtd 2011 – will be directed at small and medium-sized businesses who are keen to look closer at developments such as cloud technology and new communications breakthroughs.

On top of workshops, debates and demonstrations, it will include keynote speakers from firms such as Vodafone, Nokia and Microsoft.

Working away from the office isn’t just about plugging a phone in somewhere else, so the event will also tackle how businesses need to adapt to adopt these practices, and how it might go about making the cultural changes necessary.

It is open to businesses with between 10 and 100 employees, and runs from 9am to 4pm.

Chris Lee, managing director at CCS said: “We’re not talking about the future. This technology is here now and has been around for quite a few years.

“What has changed is that new products and developments in mobile technology mean it is now accessible and cost effective for smaller companies to use as well as bigger ones.

“What we want to show through UnLtd 2011 is that when it comes to how you run your business the possibilities really are unlimited.

“We’ve brought together some of the top people from these leading companies who have first-hand experience of implementing this kind of system and they’ll be giving an honest and open insight into the trials and tribulations they faced as well as the many benefits.”
