Top tech expert to head up IT team at ITPS

ONE of the region's top technical experts has joined £12m turnover ICT solutions firm ITPS, as part of the company's plans to double turnover and create at least 30 jobs.

Andy Hunter, who is credited with establishing the North East’s first secure data centre a decade ago, takes up the new post of director of technical services.

Heading up a team of 35, his new role will include responsibility for ITPS’s three regional data centres, and its unified communications and managed services functions.

Hunter is well known in the ICT community and in his former position as head of unified communications at Knowledge IT, he was responsible for a 10-fold increase in the company’s networking business stream in just five years.

His arrival is part of a restructure that sees ITPS’s former sales director George Galloway promoted to the newly-created post of commercial director.

His brief is to develop strategic partnerships with vendors and partners, expanding the client base through tactical growth in niche sectors ripe for ITPS’s service offerings.
