ACCOUNTANCY firm Evolution LLP has developed a system which allows companies to convert their accounts into a format that can be submitted online.
The Wynyard and Hartlepool-based firm is now offering a service which converts documents into the iXBRL computer language used by HM Revenue and Customs, and tags important information so that it can be read by the HMRC system.
It has done so to meet the demands on new regulations, which state that businesses submitting a corporation tax return also need to submit accounts electronically. Companies using Word and Excel have faced difficulties in converting the data.
Only a small number of tags are currently required, but more extensive tagging will be necessary from April 2013. Evolution’s client partner Joanne Regan says the company has already received a number of queries.
She said: “Very few other practices are offering this service in our area so we are being forward thinking and providing a service which isn’t currently available to companies in our region.”
