Komodo Design expects to increase its turnover from £180,000 to £250,000 after moving its operations form Gateshead International Business Park to the Old Casino in Newcastle earlier this year.

The firm, which was launched in 2002 in Felling, has also benefited form a number of lucrative contracts over recent years, such as creating websites for energy provider npower and the unique adventure holiday project TribeWanted.

Director Andy Greener said: “Being a creative business, it is right that we are now situated in the heart of such a creative city as Newcastle.”

The business also plans to extend its small team of five to eight in the new year. Andy said: “These are really exciting times for Komodo, there is a lot happening right now and our reputation is growing.

“I think we’ve gone some way to demonstrate great design isn’t just the domain of London, Manchester, Glasgow or Leeds, and that we have some great creative talent.
