New faces at forum for entrepreneurs

THREE new staff have been appointed at an organisation which helps businesses get started. The Entrepreneurs’ Forum has doubled its staff numbers as part of its drive to take the lead in encouraging a spirit of entrepreneurship

The forum’s new head of communications, Stephen Green, has worked at two of the region’s leading communications agencies.

He is now responsible for overseeing the forum’s communications programme as it looks to reach a wider audience over the coming months.

Victoria Rought, former PR and events manager at Storey Carpets, joins as events manager with a brief that involves taking charge of an extensive events programme and attracting high profile speakers of the stature of Sir Bob Geldof.

Ms Rought was formerly PA to forum board member Dave Charlton, CEO of The Officers Club, and Simon Heptinstall of Storey Carpets.

Rachel McDermott takes up the post of events assistant, handling all the day to day administrative work involved in the smooth running of the organisation.

Carole Beverley, chief executive of the forum said: “These appointments will complement the strengths of the existing team and create a sound platform from which to expand our activities. We’re very much a member-led organisation and everyone involved with the forum is busy running their own businesses, so it is vital we have people in place who can make sure we stay on track and continue to develop in line with member feedback.

The forum’s brief is to encourage business through the sharing of ideas and support between fledgling entrepreneurs and established business people.
