Paul has plans to clean up after buy

A SPECIALIST carpet cleaning firm is expanding with the introduction of a new rug-cleaning service.

Paul King, owner of Revita Cleaning Systems, says he has introduced the service to cater for the increasing numbers of homes with hardwood flooring instead of carpets.

He said: “As a relatively small business, we are able to stay on top of the trends in home fashions and the introduction of the rug-cleaning service is clearly one that has been long overdue – the initial response has been phenomenal.

“Many homeowners prefer hard wood or laminate flooring, but their very next purchase is a large rug to go on their new floor.”

Revita has invested £10,000 in new machinery and cleaning products at its North Shields headquarters that will help to speed up the collect and delivery service.

Mr King added: “Unfortunately, the traditional method of beating a rug out on the line does nothing more than send a puff of dust particles in the air. Rugs are invariably specialist pieces and are intricately made.

“The cleaning and drying process is very different from carpets, which is why we take the rugs away from the individuals’ homes.”

Mr King recently bought out a rival cleaning firm, but maintained his rival’s name, Revita, and immediately set about expanding the business.

He says this is just the first of many steps he will take to make Revita Cleaning Services a complete domestic and commercial specialist cleaning company.

Recent jobs include cleaning more than a kilometre of carpeted walkway leading to the passenger ships at the Port of Tyne International Cruise Terminal at North Shields. It has also worked with Storey Carpets at a number of its sites across the North.
