Chance to win a top award

ONE NorthEast (ONE) has teamed up with women’s enterprise organisation Prowess to urge businesswomen and those working to support and encourage female entrepreneurship to enter the Prowess Awards 2008.

The awards, now in their fourth year, include categories for the best female entrepreneur, the outstanding contribution to women’s enterprise development and business mentor of the year.

Tracey Mellor, enterprise programmes specialist at ONE, said: “We’re pleased to support Prowess in encouraging people across North East England to enter the 2008 awards, and in recognising those who are helping to build the enterprise culture in this region.”

Lynne Franks, who founded the SEED Women’s Enterprise Network, is one of the judges. She said: “The empowerment that is achieved by becoming an entrepreneur is life-changing and these awards celebrate all those who are inspiring and supporting women to achieve that goal.”

The deadline for entering the awards is April 11. Entry forms can be downloaded from the www.prowess.org.uk website.
