Art of graduate recruitment unveiled at Baltic

SMALL businesses seeking graduate-calibre staff are being invited to attend a free recruitment fair at the Baltic in Gateshead.

Taking place on Thursday between 10am and 4pm, gradhouse 08 has been put together by Entrust as part of its Graduates for Business programme.

Small and medium-sized businesses looking for staff can exhibit free at the event and register for the Graduates for Business service, which matches graduates seeking jobs and small firms with vacancies.

Entrust senior placement officer Yvonne Gill said: “The gradhouse 08 is a brilliant opportunity for SMEs in the region as well as for graduates from North East universities and further afield.

“It’s important to provide an event dedicated to linking the two together and we are really looking forward to matching graduates to what will hopefully be their dream jobs with SMEs right here in the North East.

“The gradhouse is deliberately different to the usual milk rounds. It’s very targeted and informal, but professional too so that graduates and employers get to know each other quickly.”

Seb Dimmock is a project engineer who was recruited to Newcastle’s Contract Design via Graduates for Business. He said: “I really believe that the North East has some excellent educational establishments and keeping graduates in the region adds huge value to businesses.

“The gradhouse is a great opportunity to show off the opportunities that we have, meet likeminded SMEs and hopefully recruit graduates in the informal setting of the Baltic.”

Business people wishing to take part should call (0191) 240-7008 to register.
