A FATHER and son have teamed up to launch their own business after sourcing start-up finance from a local enterprise growth initiative.
David Robson and his son – also called David – used their combined experience to start Classical Gas to service and repair gas appliances ranging from boilers to Agas and gas-powered tumble driers.
David Jnr is a British Gas-trained engineer and his father spent more than two decades working in administration and project management.
“We are very lucky to get on really well together and it’s great to be able to work alongside my son and help him realise an ambition to have his own company,” said David Snr.
The business, based in Stakeford in Northumberland, received almost £4,700 from Go Wansbeck’s Flexible Fund along with advice on planning and developing its strategies.
Go Wansbeck has now provided financial assistance to more than 100 new enterprises.
Programme manager Keith Raine said: “I am delighted that Go Wansbeck has been able to assist Classical Gas – the business is a great example of how it is possible for people to combine their skills and determination to establish a successful business.”
