Free seminar aims to create 'world-class' businesses

SMALL businesses are invited to a free seminar to find out how they can use the same techniques as top sports stars to become world-class.

Simon Hartley, a business, sports and performance coach, will pass on motivational information to help firms beat the competition at the event organised by Durham Business Club.

The interactive seminar aims to show businesses how to develop a ‘world-class’ vision and strategy and how to follow that up with action.

Mr Hartley has worked with Olympic swimmers to rugby players, said: “I believe becoming world-class is something within everyone's reach.

“Having worked with athletes, sports teams, businesses, charities and now educational institutions, I know there is a formula that works across the board. My mission is to help North-East businesses become world- class – not just because it sounds good - but because being world-class is a great business model.”

The seminar will be part of the next Durham Business Club meeting but businesses are welcome to attend.

Christine Yule, development director at Durham Business Club, said: “We are sure Simon’s workshop will inspire entrepreneurs, as well as deliver practical advice and guidance.”

The event is being held at Durham County Cricket Club in Chester-le-Street on Tuesday, March 10. To register, call (0191) 388-4488, email christine@durhambusinessclub.co.uk.
