Club grows stronger with two new appointments

TWO new faces have joined Durham Business Club’s board of directors.

Claire Glynn of Atomic Web Solutions (AWS) and Bryan Burke of BKB-Consultancy have joined the board as non-executive directors.

The 12-strong board is made up of three full-time executive directors and nine non-executive directors, who are appointed from the local business community.

Ms Glynn has been running AWS with husband her husband Dave since 2002. The Boldon Colliery-based business is a web optimisation specialist, which employs a small team of staff.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been chosen to join Durham Business Club’s board of directors.

“Since joining the club, we have found it an invaluable aid to boosting our marketing efforts and to winning business, as well as to accessing business advice and making some lasting friendships with other members.

“I’ll look forward to helping shape the future of the club in the coming months.”

Mr Burke runs the Crook-based business consultancy BKB-Consultancy and has more than 40 years’ experience working with both the public and private sectors, ranging from SMEs in the North East to national financial companies.

He said: “I will look forward to bringing my skills and experience of developing businesses to the role and contributing to the continued growth of the club in the future.”

Durham Business Club, which has now been running for 28 years, works as a networking organisation to support small and medium-sized member businesses.
