Police spread to net ads in battle against crime

A SMALL North East digital design and advertising agency has teamed up with police in the Home Counties to tackle travelling criminals.

MAAD, which is based in Newcastle’ Pink Lane, was recruited by Surrey Police to spread its Operation Shield message to commuters and especially young people in the county.

The police force’s long-running initiative targets people who travel from outside of the county to steal cars and burgle houses in Surrey.

MAAD produced a series of designs using different mediums to raise public awareness of the campaign.

They range from digital roadside billboards, bus shelter posters and adverts on the back of buses to a series of Flash banner adverts posted on social networking sites used by young people, such as Facebook and Bebo.
