Sara swaps hectic city life for countryside

Sara Eke

A TYNESIDE entrepreneur has shifted her firm to rural Northumberland after six years in business.

Sara Eke is aiming to attract local clients to Sara Eke Recruitment after moving from Tyneside to the village of Rock near Alnwick.

She had owned a holiday home at nearby Christon Bank for 15 years but decided to make a permanent move to the north of the county because modern technology now means she can run the business from anywhere.

Although most of her clients are Tyneside-based, she is aiming to expand across the region recruiting commercial staff for secretarial, administration, business development and marketing roles.

Mrs Eke said: “My home office is where I do most of the administration work for the business and I use hotels all over the region to interview my candidates.

“I also think it is very important to regularly visit each of my clients at their business premises to find out exactly what their recruitment needs are.”

She has no regrets about swapping the hustle and bustle of city life for the Northumberland countryside.

She said: “Living in Rock has added a new dimension to both my personal life and my business as the quality of life here is fantastic.

“If I do need to be in Tyneside I can still be there within an hour so I have the very best of both worlds,” she said.”
