Online selling is right mix for Issie

A FORMER teacher who turned her back on school to follow her dream of launching a home baking business is aiming to take a taste of a Tyneside Christmas to customers worldwide.

Issie White, who won two awards at last year’s Guild of Fine Foods and scooped another this year, is going online to sell her cakes and Christmas puddings.

The former teacher from North Shields started her business All Things Delicious three years ago after friends convinced her that her baking was good enough to sell.

She uses mainly local ingredients and most of the products contain no preservatives or additives, meaning that many are suitable for people with food intolerances.

She said: “I use the best local products from local farmers and growers whenever I can. I’m really proud of the fact that my business is growing thanks to the people of the North East who buy my products and the suppliers in the region who provide the ingredients.”

Her online shop has just been launched to complement sales via farmers’ markets and niche delicatessens across the region. The All Things Delicious Christmas pudding, which earned a gold star at this year’s Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards, has been included in a hamper.

The hamper, produced by Whitley Bay specialist food retailer Peppercorn, also contains North East-sourced brewed beer, cheese, chutney and chocolate and will be sold to international customers online.

Ms White said: “I’m really excited that the pudding will be on tables all over the world on Christmas Day.”
