A TYNESIDE entrepreneur and marketing expert has been voted best speaker at an international event staged in Iran.
Geoff Ramm, from Boldon, obtained most text votes from the audience for his speech to the first World Advertisement Forum in Tehran. During the two-day event, he spoke to more than 1,800 businesses.
Mr Ramm said: “This was my first international speaking engagement so to travel all that way and walk away with the top prize is an unbelievable achievement.
“Iran is an amazing place with amazing people who really appreciate speakers travelling to their country to help them improve their marketing, promotions and advertising activities.”
Mr Ramm took up the offer to travel to Iran after being recommended to the event’s organisers by the Professional Speakers Association.
Along with his fellow speakers, his words were translated into Farsi at the event. During his trip to Iran, he also travelled to Isfahan to speak at the Sustainable Competition in The Market Conference 2009.
Mr Ramm said: “This year has been my most successful year as a speaker with keynote talks taking place all over the UK, and I am already putting in place plans to speak in South Africa in 2010, but for now the trip to Iran has been the highlight of an incredible year.”
