Reiver Recruitment opens for business in Berwick

DEMAND from businesses in north Northumberland has persuaded a Scottish recruitment boss to open a second branch of her company south of the Border.

Reiver Recruitment has opened for business in Berwick, becoming the first recruitment firm in the town.

Owner Eileen Pheasant started the agency in 2003 in Galashiels after moving to the Borders. She had been unable to find a recruitment firm to work for, so she decided to offer her services as a freelance consultant and launched the business after securing a strong client base.

The company, which specialises in finding temporary and permanent staff for offices as well as construction and industrial employers, has managed to hold its own despite the recession.

Ms Pheasant said: “Many people may think that this is not the right time to open a new business. However we have seen such an unprecedented demand for our services that we knew we could not stand still.”

The English branch is based in the Berwick WorkSpace Business Centre.
