A MUM who struggled to find shoes and clothing for her two daughters' dancing classes has started her own shop selling clothes and accessories in Northumberland.
Nicola Conroy set up Head2Toe in Bedlington’s former police station and magistrates’ court.
She said: “Both my young daughters dance and it was difficult to buy shoes and clothes on the internet because you can’t try them on.
“Starting up in business seemed an obvious thing to do. I talked to the people running dance classes here and they were really supportive.
“I open up my shop at the same time the dance classes are running and I’m also developing a pre-loved section where people can trade in quality used items.”
Nicola previously worked in administration before deciding to go into business with her husband Simon.
The couple turned to Ashington-based business start-up support organisation Go Wansbeck for help in putting together their business plan.
Go Wansbeck Enterprise coach Graeme Trotter said: “Nicola’s business idea has got real dance legs and I hope she quick steps up to the next level. Dance is a growing market for youngsters and people who just enjoy keeping fit to music.
“Nicola’s idea is to expand her outlets and opening times to include other dance venues.”
