A FORMER teacher has her new business in the bag after she took voluntary redundancy and decided to put her experience of working with children to good use.
Sue Dodds-Crouth, a mother-of-three from Ashington, has started a children’s party goodie bag business called Roloca’s Realm, named after a combination of her own children Rohan, six, Lorien, four and one-year-old Calion.
The former Duchess High School teacher is selling the bags via children’s soft play areas, tourist information centres and the newly opened zoo at Kirkley Hall, as well as online.
She said: “I wanted to supply the complete package for my clients. Every toy or activity in the goody bag is individually wrapped, of the highest quality and perfectly safe for kids to use.”
Sue worked with Lisa Scott, an enterprise coach at Go Wansbeck, to set up the business. Scott said: “Sue has put her experience of working with children to good use and she has created a solution to a problem that a lot of parents have, for example, what do they put in the packs and is the quality good enough for their children’s party?
“Sue is very organised and knows the direction to take her business to next, we all wish her the best of luck in the future.”
