A SMALL North East interior design firm has won an national award and is now going forward to compete against the best in the world in its sector.
Space ID, based in the Tedco-run Quadrus Centre in Boldon, won the UK heat of the Architecture and Interior Design category of the International Property Awards.
The firm was honoured for its Balearic-influenced design of the Ibiza Rock Bar in Leeds.
Space ID is owned by Phill Young, Marc Hardy and Mike Simmons, who decided to set up their own business in 2007 after meeting at a large Newcastle-based interior design company.
Mr Young said: “Winning an International Property Award is a real honour and serves to remind us why we started Space ID in the first place.
“We set out to deliver a high standard of work that went beyond the expectations of our clients at every level and the award just goes to show we are well on the way to meeting our goals.
“We’re still a young business and have plans to grow even further as we inch closer to our five- year anniversary but we look forward to putting Space ID on the interior design map in the UK from our North East base.”
The team has been based at the Quadrus Centre, which supports firms in an incubator-style environment, since its inception.
