Hotel connected to 21st Century

ONE of the most historic hotels in the North-East has just come bang up-to-date by investing in a wi-fi network and offering guests unlimited free internet access.

Lumley Castle Hotel, near Chester-le-Street, was built in the 14th Century but can now boast 21st Century facilities.

The hotel is hoping business travellers and conference delegates will particularly appreciate the wi-fi facilities as free internet access is not yet a standard offering in many hotels.

Rob Dixon, sales manager at Lumley Castle Hotel which has 73 rooms and 100 staff, said: “Often simple solutions are not easy to implement in such an historic building and I’m delighted that we’re now able to offer this service.”
