Tasty snacks hailed in health award

Natasha Addis

Sandwich entrepreneur Natasha Addis, who runs a website where customers order their lunch online, has scooped a culinary award.

Her Newcastle company, eBaps, has become the only commercial caterer to win the Heart of Newcastle Award.

The award, run by the city council in partnership with Newcastle Primary Care Trust, recognises excellent standards of hygiene and healthy eating choices. Previous winners have included schools, staff canteens and community organisations.

She set up the company in 2005 with Sean McArdle and declared war on bland, boring workday lunches with a website which allows customers to select what they want in their sandwich from their office, then have it delivered or pick it up.

Ms Addis said: "We are delighted to win this award, which is a reflection of the hard work our staff put into maintaining standards.

"I have always been committed to offering people a tasty, healthy option because I believe that what is good for you does not need to be bland and boring."
