TEES Valley's expertise in the legal field continues to prosper.

And the region boasts a strong collection of companies working locally, regionally and nationally.

The Legal 500, now in its 20th year, has developed into the largest and most indepth survey of the UK legal market.

First published in 1988 it analyses the practices of more than 800 law firms, and more than 150 sets of barristers' chambers.

And the Tees Valley is well represented in the latest edition.

In the top 25 northern law firms - ranked by number of fee-earners - almost a third are based, or have offices located, in the Tees Valley.

Leading the field in the North is Dickinson Dees LLP.

The company is the largest law firm in the region, provides expertise in more than 30 practice areas and has a client base that straddles the country.

It currently employing more than 900 people across its five offices.

It has four offices in the North - including one in the Tees Valley at Thornaby's Teesdale site - and a base in London.

Jacksons Commercial and Private Law LLP is a well-respected and wellestablished firm in the Tees Valley.

The company was originally established in Middlesbrough 130 years ago.

But it now operates from a single site in Stockton with a strong local and national client base.

Tilly Bailey and Irvine was established in 1841 and has offices at Hartlepool, Stockton, Wynyard and Barnard Castle.

Business has grown to such an extent at its’ Tees Valley offices that its’ business law department relocated to new premises at the prestigious 700-acre Wynyard Park business development on the A19 between Stockton and Hartlepool during 2007.

During the past two years, TBI's business law office has more than doubled its workload.

Another firm based in the Tees Valley is the Endeavour Partnership LLP.

Founded in 1999 it is located in the heart of Teesside on the prestigious Teesdale Business Park in Thornaby.

And 2007 marked a new era for Teesside legal team Archers Law LLP.

After more than 140 years in Yarm Road, Stockton, the expanding Tees Valley team moved to new headquarters at Bowesfield Park, Stockton
