UNLIKE many supermarkets, G&S Organics has not increased its food prices in nearly three years. There are few companies that can make that claim. Fortunately for G&S Organics’ customers, they are still paying the same price for their organic family grocery box now as they were three years ago.
Couple this with the second- to-none customer service, weekly delivery to your home, a website that contains a wealth of information and the quality and traceability of the organic produce in the box, and it’s not surprising that G&S Organics is continually taking on new customers, and more importantly retaining old customers.
The weekly organic box from G&S Organics at Longramlington, Northumberland, contains near enough everything you would need for a few fantastic meals for the family. It includes a range of organic seasonal fruit and vegetables, a selection of organic poultry and/or meat, half-a-dozen free range organic eggs, one litre of organic milk and freshly baked organic bread.
If you are one of the many who have heard about organic boxes – perhaps you’ve seen your neighbours having theirs delivered but are unsure, curious yet intrigued and just want to find out more, then here is the chance to discover more about box schemes.
G&S Organics is hosting an open day on Sunday June 15 where you can find answers to all your burning questions.
Beth Sutherland, co-partner in G&S Organics, who is mother to two small boys and well versed in keeping mischievous little ones occupied, said: “There is so much to do for all members of the family, including getting ‘down and dirty.’ I am laying on herb planting sessions for the children. We will teach them how to plant and care for their plants and the children can then take away their herbs.”
Beth is keen to show everyone how easy it is growing your own vegetables and will be demonstrating and asking for volunteers to plant a range of vegetables, cabbage, carrots and sowing lettuce.
Lee Gray, Beth’s co-partner in the business, will also be hosting interactive sausage- making demonstrations. Have you ever fancied forcing meat into the unfeasibly long, yet fragile skins knowing full well you will end up crying with laughter at the disaster that emerges at the other end? Well finally an opportunity too good to miss arises.
There will also be a farm tour where farming and processing methods are explained.
Of course, there will be refreshments available on the day along with an open air organic hog or lamb roast – and all of this to the sound of live music.
