ARE you one of the many people who like to know, or indeed must know where your food comes from?
Do you want local food and drink but either don’t know where to go to get it or just don’t have the time to trawl around the region’s marvellous farm shops and independent retailers? Or are you simply a foodie, who wants artisan food, where taste, quality and originality are the hallmarks?
Food Local Food is a brand new concept in online and catalogue shopping. It was launched in the North East two months ago by Alison Taylor with help from a dedicated and passionate team.
Food Local Food has brought together over 80 local and regional food and drink producers, including farm shops, to bring the very best of local and regional food and drink to the consumer.
So whether you want a full supermarket shop or just a few special items to impress your dinner guests then do what many do – make a cuppa, sit at the PC or flick through the catalogue and do your shopping with the knowledge that the food is sourced from the North East. It is the best the region can offer and you can order as little or as many times as you like. Food Local Food prides itself on customer service so if you want that special cut of meat or a whole salmon, then the team at Food Local Food will talk to the producers on your behalf and get you exactly what you require. No request is too small or too difficult.
Once you have ordered, your shopping is delivered direct to your door, with a no quibble full money back guarantee. For those who want the convenience you can pay with your credit card online or on the telephone and pay on delivery.
Said Alison Taylor: “We are a supermarket for local and regional suppliers, and we have some amazing all year round produce but we are also very seasonal. Tritlington Fresh Produce Asparagus is on the site for a few weeks only and cannot be beaten on quality and taste. Ridley’s Fish & Game has a wonderful shop in Corbridge, but if that’s not convenient to you we can supply their whole range, from delicious seafood lasagne to all sorts of wild game, additive free sausages, and fish so fresh we wait for the boat to come in.
“We are adding new suppliers all the time, and can supply everything from desserts to rapeseed oil, as well as vegetables, bread, pies, meat, fish and multiple store cupboard items.
“The speed in which we have grown in our first two months has surpassed all expectations and we are welcoming on board new staff to enable us to develop further.” Alison said they wanted to say a big thank you to their suppliers who had been very supportive and incredibly flexible.
