BOC investment underlines commitment to the North-East

AS a major provider of industrial and specialty gases, combined with related services and application know-how, BOC supports a range of industries globally which have contributed to advances in many industries and aspects of life. Industries to which BOC contributes include steelmaking, refining, chemical processing, environmental protection, wastewater treatment, welding and cutting, food processing and distribution, glass production, electronics and health care.

BOC has been meeting the needs of Teesside industry for several decades and in that time has developed a network of more than 100km of pipeline supplying oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and argon to local industry. Together with BOC’s production sites on Teesside, this network forms the single largest industrial gas facility in the UK and one of the largest in Europe.

In the past nine years, BOC has invested more than £100m in the area, helping customers, particularly in process industries, improve productivity, efficiency, safety management and environmental compliance. Tonnage account manager with BOC Dr Dave Lockyer says: “BOC greatly values our existing customers in the North-East and through a thorough understanding of their businesses we’ve helped them achieve significant improvements in several areas of operational performance.

“BOC seeks to apply specialist knowledge across the region by leveraging on our experience gained locally and globally.
