Tees Valley’s venue-finding service showing dividends

A FREE venue-finding service is hoping to take the stress out of event organisation.

The visitTeesvalley service can help create bespoke event and teambuilding packages and also offers an accommodation hotline for companies bringing contractors to the region.

North East England has been experiencing exponential growth in the number of conferences and events held in the region, and it’s easy to see why.

Tees Valley is no exception, and is seeing more organisers arranging events in the area than ever before.

Many say it is because of the people, described as friendly, creative and passionate.

The number of conferences taking place here could also be down to the industrial and business growth in Tees Valley – with huge investment over the past few years.

The success is demonstrated by its economic impact – during 2006 and 2007, more than £400,000-worth of enquiries were generated through the venue-finding service, across Tees Valley’s five boroughs.

The service is promoted at national exhibitions in Birmingham, Harrogate and Manchester and has a 38% conversion rate, proving the service is highly successful for both service providers and those looking to arrange an innovative event for staff, colleagues or friends.

To further support the activity, Tees Valley’s most comprehensive ever Business Travellers Guide was unveiled in 2007. It’s aimed at event organisers, business travellers and contractors and contains full details on more than 20 of the Tees Valley’s leading venues and over 15 corporate activity providers.

The North East is one of the most attractive places in the UK to hold your conference or event – and Tees Valley is an integral part of this offer.
