HPM Group pack in a lot under one roof

THERE have been lots of challenges this year at HPM Group, the marketing services group based in County Durham.

Having re-branded as HPM Group from Hillprint, the long established and well respected print company, the business objectives are to widen the services the company can offer in addition to the core print and finishing business.

The first step in building up the group services was the creation of several divisions, each responsible for a specific area of expertise. HPM Colour is the design and print service most closely aligned to the core business, with the additional added value of a strong design team, under the leadership of Richard Lister.

HPM Shape, headed up by an experienced marketing and advertising practitioner, Caroline Metcalfe, is structured along the same lines as a traditional ad agency, offering branding and corporate identity development, advertising, media planning and buying, PR and event management.

Making up the full complement of HPM Group services is HPM Logic, who develop web and software solutions to clients requirements, often a part of an integrated marketing campaign.

With particular expertise in health, local authority and education, HPM Group are also working with clients from across a wide range of sectors including retail, automotive, professional services and travel.

Caroline said: “Being able to offer our clients a fully integrated marketing offering is something we think is a valuable service. In addition, what we have as a unique selling point that a traditional agency cannot offer is the print element. If the job requires print, any design, marketing or advertising agency will have to buy it in, in order to complete the job. We have the print in-house, which means the client gets a job from creation to completion, with full quality control – and without any mark up.”

Another benefit that the print side can offer comes through the awarding of the Forest Stewardship Certification (FSC) to HPM Group, which demonstrates the company’s commitment to be environmentally aware.

“More and more of our clients are looking to demonstrate to their clients and stakeholders that they are taking socially responsible steps in their business. HPM Group can assure them, through the FSC accreditation, that their print material is being produced in ways that support this” says Richard Mortimer, managing director.
