SANDERSON Weatherall has bolstered its presence in the region’s licensing and leisure market with the arrival of two new team members to its Newcastle office.
Joining from a national plc in the North-East where he specialised in the licensing and leisure sector for 11 years, Adrian Mattock has been appointed director at the firm.
Working closely with executive director Nigel Westwood, Adrian will give advice to clients while nurturing new business opportunities, with particular emphasis on the sale of hotels, pubs (both freehold and leasehold) and quality B&Bs.
Joining Sanderson Weatherall at a time of significant growth, he will channel his experience and extensive skill-base into further developing the department.
In addition, having recently passed his APC to become fully qualified, Anthony Tubbs joins the team as surveyor.
Anthony has previously worked in the company’s rating department and possesses a great deal of knowledge spanning across the surveying specialisms.
Nigel Westwood, executive director at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “Adrian has a wealth of experience in his field and is a valuable addition to the licensing and leisure team.
His arrival will help us to expand our presence in the marketplace and we anticipate substantial business growth, innovation and client satisfaction under his direction.
“Anthony’s appointment complements that of Adrian and will further reinforce our presence in the North-East. Providing a one-stop resource for valuation, acquisition, disposal and management advice to pub and leisure operators, owners and developers, the pair will play an important part in the continued growth of the division and, with their invaluable industry experience, they will be real assets to the firm.”
The Newcastle team is supported by well-established licensing and leisure divisions in both the Leeds and Manchester offices. Together, the experienced and qualified team of professionals acts for a number of developers, owners and occupiers across the UK and specialises in the valuation, sale, acquisition, rent review, inventories, rating, surveys, and licensing of pubs, hotels, clubs, guest houses, restaurants, nightclubs and leisure properties.
The specialists value, survey or negotiate the rent on over 700 pubs, hotels, guest houses, clubs and restaurants each year, with an approximate overall value of £225m.
