A LEADING cash and carry operator has launched a range of goods to help foreigners feel more at home.
Makro, the UK’s third largest cash and carry operator, is launching a new range of Polish products in stores based in areas with established Polish communities.
From this week customers at 18 selected stores across the country will have access to 100 Polish lines, including everything from beer and confectionery to cured meats and dairy products.
Tyskie and Lech beer, Sokalow frankfurters, Lowicz jams and soups and Wawel sweets are just some of the brands that will be available.
Kenny Jacobs, Makro’s customer manager, said: “We supply millions of businesses across the UK, including the hotel and catering sector, with food and non-food products.
“We pride ourselves on offering a great variety at Makro, but also on providing specialist goods and items.
“With reports that eastern European communities in the UK are growing, we want to ensure we have the products these communities need so we are giving the best level of service.”
Following extensive market research among its key clientele, Makro is unveiling a more
specialist, value-added service to its business customers and the launch of these new lines is part of this.
Employing 6,500 people in stores – which stretch from the north of Scotland to the south of England – every Makro store houses 25,000 products.
Makro is part of the METRO Group, the third largest trading group in the world, operating in 30 countries worldwide.
In France and Spain Metro is a leading supplier to the catering industry.
