J AND J Ward Limited was formed in 1947 by local businessman, Jim Ward and to this day continues to be a respected family run business focusing on its core strength of delivering first class customer service.
Their experience in the handling and transportation of bulk cargoes has enabled them to build strong, sustainable relationships with their customers.

Critical to the smooth management of the river are the activities of the haulier who is an integral part of the loading/discharging operations, enabling the prompt turnaround of vessels.
As one of the UK’s leading bulk carriers they currently haul approximately 2.4 million tonnes per year, including products such as potash and road salt for Cleveland Potash, limestone and coke for Corus, a variety of quarry products, sugar beet, animal feed and corn. These are safely transported to premises located from the North of Scotland to Cornwall.
J and J Ward Ltd has a modern fleet of tractor units and trailers allied to a professional driving force offering a nationwide delivery of bulk products.
Their current fleet is made up of a combination of Scania and Volvo tractors units, all of which have been selected for their continual reputation and performance, operating at up to 44 tonnes. In 2007 they took delivery of 11 new Scania and Volvo tractor Units and another 15 Fruehauf bathtub tipper trailers.
The majority of their work consists of bulk tipping but within the fleet they also operate tankers for the hauling of animal feed products.
With current depots at Garforth, Leeming Bar and Middlesbrough on the banks of the River Tees, they are able to provide a professional, responsive service.
