MIDDLESBROUGH woman Joanne Tilley is aiming to generate up to £2m of new revenues in the next three years for the UK arm of an international cosmetic and beauty firm.
Since taking on the challenge of running the new UK office of International Cosmetic Suppliers (ICS) last June, Joanne is on course to turn over £150,000 in her first year and hopes to expand the business exponentially.
A former buyer for cosmetics firm Avon, Joanne chose UK Steel Enterprise’s Innovation Centre on the Kirkleatham Business Park, Redcar to be the company’s UK base.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, ICS designs and sources containers and packaging for cosmetic and beauty companies catering for products such as brushes, compacts, mascaras, and cases for lipsticks and eye shadows.
Joanne is actively promoting the company’s biodegradable packaging and packaging made from recycled plastics.
She said: “Companies of all sizes should play their part in helping the world to become a more environmentally friendly place.
“Aesthetics is everything in this industry and I’ve just taken on a packaging designer, John Richmond, to help achieve my financial targets.”
