Mincoffs takes long-term view

AIM, the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange is becoming an increasingly popular forum for trading in a company’s shares. More than 1,000 companies, from a broad spectrum of industries, are now traded on Aim.

At Mincoffs Solicitors, we have been advising Aim clients for more than a decade. In 1996, we were the first firm in the region to advise a client in respect of an admission to Aim.

Since that time, we have strengthened our experience and expertise by advising Aim clients which include Forever Broadcasting , Metnor Group and most recently Northern Bear.

We have particular experience in advising leisure and entertainment businesses, construction companies, engineering and manufacturing enterprises and broadcasting and telecommunication companies.

With our experience, there are few issues and hindrances that we have not encountered before and we can offer clients pragmatic solutions to these problems.

Aim admission can be a complex and time-consuming process but when the company is in good shape for a float, we have been able to navigate the admission process in as little as three months. There are two main strands of the process, handling the documentation (which involves preparing the legal documents and financial information required for admission) and investor relations (which involves testing the market and choosing an appropriate launch date).

This will be a demanding time for the management but we can shoulder some of the burden and help smooth the process for you.

It is important to us to understand the markets that our clients operate in, their business objectives and the challenges that they face. Ensuring our advice to clients is in context to their market is of paramount importance to us.

Admission to Aim is, of course, only the start of the process.

To make the most of opportunities offered by Aim, a company must continue to develop its business and perhaps most importantly to communicate to investors why they should continue to support it.

At Mincoffs, we look at the long term and will support businesses as they develop and grow. There are challenging but potentially rewarding times ahead for those who choose admission to Aim.
