Taking the flexible option will save cash

RESEARCH by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing demonstrates that businesses can save 50% over three years on office space when the total cost of occupancy is factored in by opting for a flexible office provider. Businesses in the Gateshead areas can benefit from this flexibility at the Regus premises at the Axis Building in the Team Valley Business Park. Offering an alternative to the traditional high-cost inflexible space model sets apart Regus, the world’s largest provider of workplace solutions.

And businesses which sign up with Regus will not only benefit from flexibility but will also enjoy working in a prestigious, state-of-the-art, high-spec building.

The centre is also well-located, being less than one mile from the A1 and is well- served by public transport into Newcastle city centre.

Tracy Claydon, area director for the North, said: “Regus opened its centre here in Gateshead in spring 2005 and it has been growing in popularity ever since. Obviously the Maingate business centre has proved popular with our clients because of the flexibility on offer.

“All contract details are agreed up front, with customers only paying for additional services, such as video conferencing, meeting rooms and IT support as and when they use them. Its popularity is also boosted by its convenient location – and having such a fantastic leisure centre on site doesn’t do any harm either.

“We currently have a diverse mix of clients; from recruitment agencies and financial advisers to government bodies and IT companies. In total, there are more than 30 companies which are clients but we also get a lot of people who really benefit from our flexibility by using our drop-in facility – where essentially you can have an office for a day for as little as only £9.99 outside London.”

As the market leader in providing office space, Regus heads the flexible-working trend. As well as adding 80 business centres to its growing property portfolio this year, the company has launched new products and initiatives such as business lounges that enable remote working from a central office or on the move, reducing the need for business people to balance a laptop on their knees in a coffee shop or hotel lobby.

Ms Claydon added: “The economy in the North-East is looking buoyant and the local area has benefited hugely from development and regeneration. Regus gives more choice to local businesses which want to focus on their own growth, without getting tied into long office leases – particularly useful for start-ups and budding entrepreneurs.”
