A.V. Dawson works with a large network of local, national and international hauliers to ensure total coverage and to cope with peaks and troughs in transport supply chain demands.

To this end A.V. Dawson have developed policies on Driver Training including external Health & Safety and Load Security training and driver development through NVQ qualifications. Only the most fuel efficient vehicles are purchased and none are operated for more than 5 yrs thus ensuring minimum damage to the environment and excellent reliability.

A.V. Dawson have specialist division serving the Irish market delivering hundreds of loads weekly using a combination of Irish hauliers and Irish Sea container shipping lines. Ireland is most definitely open for business as has been evidenced by a huge increase in demand for this service.

A.V. Dawson’s haulage options are not however just restricted to the nations highways. The company also operates a truly multi-modal freight transport service. On Teesside A.V. Dawson operate over 1000m of River Tees quayside for port and shipping activities, as well as two rail freight terminals and several storage environments within a customs approved site, hence the company logo ‘Road, Rail, Land and Sea‘.

The total site on Teesside exceeds 60 acres. A.V. Dawson is a big believer in value added services. Road Haulage is a significant but single element in an integrated offering which includes; inter-modal transfer, container handling, vanning and devanning of light and very heavy goods, packing and palletising.

Other services include materials management, ships agency, and freight forwarding. The Company has a growth policy of related diversification and has recently spawned two new business; Tees Valley Trailers and Tees Valley Coatings.

Tees Valley Trailers

Tees Valley Trailers was established in 2004 and initially focused on supplying used trailers to UK and export markets and had a small hire fleet. The company now has over 150 trailers in the hire fleet supported by a full range of maintenance, repair and refurbishment facilities on site in Middlesbrough.

Skeletals, flats, curtainsiders, extenders and low loader step frame trailers are available for immediate long or short term hire. Hire deals can be flexible and inclusive or exclusive of maintenance and tyres. Full breakdown cover is available UK wide.

Trailer sales have also grown significantly over 3 years. Used trailers can be supplied fully refurbished, converted or customised to customers specifications and livery. The company has recently formed partnerships with new trailer manufacturers and is an official stockist of Dennison Trailers and an agent for M+G and Boalloy.

New trailers are currently available from stock for same day delivery.

Tees Valley Coatings

Tees Valley Coatings is a new Commercial and industrial Coatings business formed in 2007, boasting the largest and most modern third party blast and paint facility in the North of England.

This facility meets the highest environmental standards whilst guaranteeing a speedy turnaround and excellent quality. The staff at Tees Valley Coatings has been hand picked from the spray painting community and
is recognised as being amongst the best in this highly skilled trade.

As well as painting, the company offers accident repair and refurbishment and has fabrication facilities for conversion and alterations.

Tees Valley Coatings is already working with many of the major haulage names on Teesside. In addition the company has contracts in the; Marine, Fire Protection, Industrial Plant, Sub-Sea, and Petrochemical markets.
