LINTHORPE Road South is a corner of Middlesbrough that’s been totally transformed in recent years.
Investment and improvement has turned the area into a thriving community of bars, restaurants and specialist retail shops.
Now full of energy and opportunity, it’s another example of how the town is transforming itself into a forward-thinking city region.
Key to this Middlesbrough make-over has been the development of designer store Psyche.
This week the town’s “Harvey Nichols of the North” will celebrate 25 years.
Now a nationally recognised designer mecca, Psyche has played its part in putting Middlesbrough on the map.
And plans are already underway to take the store to the next level - by creating a 270 seat rooftop restaurant and a 40 bed boutique hotel by the end of 2009.
JOANNE WELFORD met the store’s boss Steve Cochrane.
