‘There’s nothing more important than the state of our health’

SINCE we launched Get A Better Life earlier this year it’s been fantastic to see so many people grasp the opportunity to change their life for the better.

We’ve featured many of their inspirational stories in the pages of the Evening Gazette and online at www.gazettelive.co.uk/betterlife

Almost 1,000 people have now pledged their support to the initiative - which we are running in conjunction with Teesside University and Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust.

Well done to each and every one of you - you are on your way to a fitter, healthier, and hopefully, longer life.

But with the data collected set to shape the health agenda in our region for years to come - giving the most detailed insight ever into Teesside’s eating and exercise habits - we need even more people to make the pledge.

And the clock is ticking.

There are only nine days left for people to sign up to the campaign with April 30 the deadline for taking part.

Today in this special Redcar and Cleveland Tees Pride supplement we see how Get A Better Life is already reaping rewards.

As well as signing up for the campaign, workers at Wilton-based Techconsult have launched their own healthy eating initiatives and are getting out from behind their desks and turning their lunch break into an exercise session.

A great example of teamwork and motivation - well done.

There’s nothing more important than the state of our health.

So don’t put it off until tomorrow - sign up today and make your first step towards a better life.
